About Me

My photo
Hi I’m Jen- I'm one lucky lady to be married to the most wonderful man, Jason. I am a mother to three beautiful children, Grant, Norah, who was born with hydrocephalus, and Mason. I love spending my time with my family. I also like to challenge myself with new things. I'm on a constant quest to become more organized, it may never happen but it's a dream. I currently work part-time as a RN in an emergency department. I love this journey of life that I am on with God by my side, knowing that all things are possible when you Believe.

Road Trip

Being a RN in a large emergency department has afforded the ability to work a group of days all bunched up to get long stretches of days off without using vacation time. The 4th of July was my holiday after working all weekend long, so I have the next 7 days off. I have been missing my parent and home so now is the perfect time to visit. However, Jason has been exceptionally busy with work lately especially being short some employees. I have a feeling our camping trip later this summer won't happen because he can't go far from home.  So, I will be traveling the 8.5 hours to my parents by myself.

All loaded up and ready to go!

Time for a rest stop! I love rest stops with playgrounds.

We made it to Gramps and Granny's house!

I love my parents, they are been a great example of how to parent my kids, how to work on my marriage daily and most importantly to rely on God and put Him first in all we do. Getting to go home and visit is the best. We have lots of fun planned for the next few days, so we are going to savor it all!

Independence Day

Happy Independence Day for the Zehrung Family!

I worked all day in the ER, but now that I'm how time to have shooting off the fireworks. Originally, we had planned to go watch the fireworks in Pewaukee. The kids had a full day of fun with Jason going to a parade. We changed plans, stayed home, and had a great evening.

And in the end, we could still see the fireworks over Lake Pewaukee.

Beach Day!!

We started KM Summer Academy this last week. Grant, Norah and Mason go every morning for some fun learning and activities and then we plan fun activities in the afternoon. Yesterday, we headed to the library for an afternoon program. It was a juggler that had been on America's Got Talent. Today, we headed to the beach with some friends for a picnic lunch and fun on the beach.

Grant quickly made friends with some boys building a sand castle and digging a major moat around it. He was the foreman of their project before long, and he was having lots of fun.

Mason and I swimming.

Norah and I made a drip castle. A favorite of mine, I can remember making these with my mom as a kid when we would camp at Rock Island in the summers.

Mason was busy collecting tiny shells along the shoreline.

Strawberry Picking

We headed to Jelli's today for strawberry picking.

I think the kids ate at least one strawberry for everyone that made it in the box.

Time to enjoy the ride out of the field.

Mason, I caught you!!

When we got home, we turned these delicious, 28 pounds of strawberries into syrup, sorbet and jam. It was a full day of fun, and everyone was caught red handed.

Hiking at Retzer Nature Center

This morning as we decided how we were going to kick off our summer of fun, Grant, Norah and Mason unanimously choose to go hiking. Specifically at Retzer Nature Center, is where this hike was going to take place. They had just been there a few days before with a class field trip that Mason, Daphne and I joined Grant and Norah's class on. They wanted explore the rest of the trails that they didn't have time to explore when they were there.

We set out in the morning before it was too hot, but it was already sticky humid. Norah and Mason had lots of energy to run ahead!! Grant and I were counting how many different types of birds we could find.

We caught up to Norah and Mason taking a rest in the Oak Grove.

After the trails were all hiked, we stopped at the pond to hunt for frogs!!

The perfect hike to start our summer of fun!!
